Hello from the tour bus....

So, I was all ready to get into my cozy bunk and sleep but then I thought, "Hey It's time for a new blog". So now here I am, it's way past my bedtime, I've turned on my favorite classical music (which includes my all time favs Suite for Solo Cello No.1 in G Major and Claire de lune) and I am going to attempt to make sense.
First of all we've been having a wonderful time on our acoustic christmas tour! Thank you so so much to all of you who have come out and made each night so memorable and for putting up with all of our sarcasm:)
How does sarcasm fit with a christmas concert you ask? Well, you'll just have to come find out for yourself.
We also have the privilege of touring with Reilly and maybe just maybe we've tried to steal some of their members. (Again, you'll just have to come and see for yourself what in the world I'm talking about)
Oh we also thought, since this is a Christmas tour, we wanted to give away a few tickets each morning on Facebook. So if we're coming anywhere near you and you'd never pay to see us, well now there's no excuse is there???? Yep, I went there.
Oh on a non sarcastic note, thank you so so much for all of you who have taken home shoeboxes to fill for Operation Christmas Child. Last year 7.5 million were handed out and this year the goal is 8 million and you are apart of that. Thank you!!
Ministry on this tour has been just unbelievable. Watching God show up and just pour love out on His people is something I will never grow tired of experiencing. I have been feeling like God is just pounding a word into my heart and it's becoming a huge piece of what I share from stage. The word is simply inheritance. Inherit- receive (money, property, or a title) as an heir at the death of the previous holder. Singing all the Christmas songs and reflecting on what He did for us has been making me wonder, Jesus came and paid a HUGE price to walk in miracles, signs, wonders, and love like none of us have ever seen. God made a HUGE sacrifice to send His son so that we could have unbroken, unheard of intimacy with the Father. Then, He promised that we would do even greater things then He did and that anything we asked in His name we would receive. Unfortunately how much of our lives are spent feeling like orphans and not sons. I've just been realizing more than ever that we are required to receive! God is waiting to pour Himself out but how often do we refuse Him because we feel unworthy? It all boils down to identity. We are sons and daughters of the living God and it's time to receive all He paid for. We have a lifetime to enjoy His presence, to become a resting place for His Spirit. To become so engulfed by Him that our lives begin to overflow with His love and presence. That whenever people are around us they begin to become affected by the presence we now carry. We should be so close to the Father that when people get around us they feel like they are home. See when we begin to receive the gifts we could never earn or deserve we will unknowingly begin to treat others with the same undeserved love. We could spend our lives trying to earn love or deserve His presence or we could stop and realize that none of us are going to take our Christmas gifts back this year and try to re-pay for them. If you do...well....sorry that's weird. If we think that's strange then why do we do that with God's gifts.
I want to encourage you- begin to let Him in even more. If you're coming out to one of our concerts purpose in your heart to allow God to just love you. He's showing up every night. Get ready to receive. He gave and incredible gift because He wanted to. It's His great delight to Love us. Only Love can change this world.
